German Design Award for 2025.
The Heinrich Helicoprion aka "Buzzsaw", has won the "Excellent Product Design, Luxury goods", which is very cool indeed. It is very nice indeed to get recognition for ones designs. Statement of the jury: "This wristwatch impresses with its blend of robust functionality and elegant aesthetics. The striking dial with its unique design ensures excellent legibility. The screw-down bezel emphasises the sporty character and stands out stylishly from conventional designs. The ‘Heinrich Helicoprion’ timepiece is a luxurious example of creative aesthetics." I've always loved orange as a colour, especially as a dial colour. Well, it dates back to my days working for DOXA, who cannot like orange! But this is a bit more unique than just orange panted dial as the Carnelian stone changes colours depending on the lighting condition. I'm really intrigued to see what it is like. It is all very exciting at the moment, as there are lot's of new watch designs coming out between now and 2025. Unfortunately from design to watchmaker development, prototype and launch is a very long slow process indeed, often as long as a year, sometimes longer.
We have several new and exciting Heinrich watch designs in prototype stage, which will be launched between the coming months and 2025. Heinrich watches is relatively quick compared to others when it comes to design > prototyping > launch. German efficiency ;-) I have another client also at prototype stage, which hopefully I'll be able to reveal soon. I also have three other clients at pre-development stage with watchmakers. Hopefully I will be able to revealed lots more in the coming weeks and months. The new Vertex M36, Taking its DNA from the Vertex Cal59 timepiece of 1944, the bespoke 36mm brushed steel case measures 11mm in depth with a lug width of 18mm and a lug-to-lug of 46.5mm.
Don asked me to do the redesign and drawings for the watchmakers in October 2023, which was quite a privilege and honour to have worked on such a historic piece. The M36 launched recently, more information can be seen on the Vertex website. First pictures of the soon to be released LOWE Global Diver.
It looks pretty good. See more pictures here. Great review of the Vertex MP45 C50 I designed for Don. Great watch review of the new Heinrich Helicoprion that I designed for Wolfgang. If one thinks about it, a beautifully designed watch is not only an amazing little mechanical machine, it is also a wearable piece of art where the designer (the artist) has put part of his sole into creating the design. Wolfgang and myself like to produce pieces of art, not just another watch, hench our passion to create unique looking watches that are not just art, but also very practical for the harsh environment we live in, IE they're built to dive watch specifications.
Having seen the prototypes at the World Time UK show in September I felt very proud of our achievement with this watch...it looks absolutely stunning in the flesh! To pre-order or find out more information click here |
