SORTIE Watches is a new client, based near Biggen Hill in England.
The watch designs are now with watchmakers for the development stage, which is always the exciting bit. Seeing what is and what's not possible. I do like to push things as much as possible, especially with the case design and my highly polished bevelled edges. Having seen the 3D render it is looking pretty good, but we need a few tweaks done to get it just perfect. I'm looking forward to seeing the first pictures once it gets to the prototype stage, but that's still several months off yet. Unfortunately I cannot reveal more at this stage.  Really looking forward to seeing this beauty! Wolfgang has just shipped it.
I've always loved orange as a colour, especially as a dial colour. Well, it dates back to my days working for DOXA, who cannot like orange! But this is a bit more unique than just orange panted dial as the Carnelian stone changes colours depending on the lighting condition. I'm really intrigued to see what it is like. The new Vertex M36, Taking its DNA from the Vertex Cal59 timepiece of 1944, the bespoke 36mm brushed steel case measures 11mm in depth with a lug width of 18mm and a lug-to-lug of 46.5mm. Don asked me to do the redesign and drawings for the watchmakers in October 2023, which was quite a privilege and honour to have worked on such a historic piece. If one thinks about it, a beautifully designed watch is not only an amazing little mechanical machine, it is also a wearable piece of art where the designer (the artist) has put part of his sole into creating the design. Wolfgang and myself like to produce pieces of art, not just another watch, hench our passion to create unique looking watches that are not just art, but also very practical for the harsh environment we live in, IE they're built to dive watch specifications. Having seen the prototypes at the World Time UK show in September I felt very proud of our achievement with this watch...it looks absolutely stunning in the flesh! I'm very excited about one of my latest watch designs being launched, the Helicoprion is a really stunner in the flesh. I got to see the watch for the first time at the World Time UK show when I met up with Wolfgang. I know, I'm more known for dive watch designs, but this still retains a dive watches DNA. Well, what would one expect when both Wolfgang and myself are both scuba divers ;-) The build quality and finish on these new timepieces is absolutely stunning and has done true justice to my original design concept. We've not held back on this watch. The concept was to create a more dressy luxury timepieces with beautiful polished bevelled edges, and a touch of class, but also a practical tough watch than one can were even when diving.
